While only about a 10-minute drive to either Mountain Village or the Town proper, you’ll feel you are miles away from civilization. And the ordinary.

Just stepping into the canyon-based cottage is an experience all itself. No you aren’t in a museum. Those are not paintings. They’re actually windows, with clear sightlines to nature’s mountain masterpiece. The brilliant interior design brings the outdoors inside, with exposed beams, soaring ceilings, and a rustic, wooded core so vast you couldn’t possibly ask for more. But more is what you’ll get, of course. Just head downstairs to the den, and huddle around the giant fireplace after a long day on the trails. Up one flight lies the wide-open, modern kitchen. Cook up a quick breakfast to get that necessary energy to take on Telluride right. For more formal conversation, take your plates from the 4-seat island and head over to the open dining room table. It can comfortably seat 8, but you may lose one or two to the telescope, leather couches or scenic hot tub not far from reach. Someone silly might even sneak away to get some work done in the adjacent study. Worry not. They’ll be back when they’re hungry.
