The Maldives, located SW of Indian, in the Indian Ocean, are part of Asia.  These islands make up some of the most beautiful Resort Style Accommodations you will find anywhere in the world, from bungalows on the beach to homes IN the Ocean.  Yes I said homes  in the Ocean, cottages strewn about where the only thing between you and the water is the wood below your feet.  These cottages, cabanas, and villas across the Maldives make up for about 20%  of the travel gross in this area.  These small islands, like many small islands, are keen on their tourism and so the inhabitants normally speak English and cater to a wide variety of cultures.
