Chateau de Gignac is a stunning luxury castle rental nestled on the hilltop of the eastern part of Provence overlooking a tiny, charming hamlet of the same name. An ideal spot from which to experience the stunning landscapes, water and land activities, culinary delights, beauty, and history the region has to offer. Built between 1760 and 1780, on the eve of the French Revolution, and beautifully restored in the late 20th century, Chateau de Gignac harmoniously combines authentic historical charm and modern convenience. The history of the space is felt throughout – from genuine tile work, original woods, stunning fireplaces, to comfortable antique furnishings. High ceilings and open rooms offer ample space to both relax individually and join together as a group. Several original wood burning fireplaces and 18th century plasterwork coexist today with modern plumbing, kitchen appliances, laundry room, beautiful heated pool, and Wi-Fi throughout the property. The historic chateau’s beautiful central stairway, 12-foot ceilings, eight bedroom and seven bathrooms, expansive terraces, and private park, make it the perfect rental for a memorable vacation with family or friends.

The outdoor terrace provides breathtaking views of the Provençal countryside. The chateau is on a private, multi-level, forested park of approximately 3,000 m² (nearly an acre). To explore the park, take the historic, grand staircase down from the main terrace. The terrace, modern pool, and walking paths of the park offer great opportunities to take in the natural splendor of the surrounding countryside, relax, and enjoy a variety of recreational activities. Take a stroll to the swimming pool which is nestled in our garden and features a beautiful decorative fountain, summer kitchen, dining table, bathroom, shower, and changing room. The pool is a stunning 20 meters long and 6 meters wide and perfect for laps for a refreshing dip. Pool heating is available upon request for your comfort. Indulge in a relaxing afternoon on a sun lounger and have a cookout in our summer kitchen. The village of Gignac is on the edge of the Luberon mountains between the village of Rustrel (4km) and Apt (8km) on the border of the Alpes de Haute Provence and Vaucluse. With its sunny Mediterranean climate, abundant local produce, and rich culinary heritage, the region of Provence offers a wide array of delicious dishes, flavors and produce to discover. Provence is a food lover’s paradise. Whether you’re sampling local cheeses, sipping on a glass of wine, or enjoying a bowl of bouillabaisse, you’re sure to find plenty of delicious dishes to try.
