This charming villa, accommodating up to 10 guests, has been lovingly renovated to retain its character and soul. Featuring original terra cotta floor tiles, antique wooden doors and windows, high vaulted ceilings, and handpicked local furnishings, Rice House is a graceful step back in time with all the contemporary conveniences. Four air-conditioned bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are located in the main house. A fifth bedroom suite, known as the Pink House, sits slightly apart from the main structure and offers a king-size bamboo bed and two bunk beds—ideal for children or young adults. All rooms are decorated with an understated elegance, connecting guests to the villa’s heritage and its natural surroundings.

The house offers a variety of serene indoor and outdoor living spaces. The west-facing veranda is perfect for sunset cocktails, overlooking rice fields where the changing light paints a different picture every hour. A second veranda opens to the spacious garden—a wonderful space for children to play cricket or soccer. Inside, a breezy living room provides a comfortable spot to unwind with a book or movie. At the heart of the garden, the infinity pool is a true showstopper—surrounded by palms and positioned to soak in the sweeping views of the paddy fields.

For meals, enjoy open-air dining on the covered terrace with views of the garden or the pool. The villa’s private chef, is available to prepare delicious meals tailored to your tastes, ranging from Sri Lankan curries to western dishes. Meals are charged based on the cost of ingredients and transport. Rice House is just a 15-minute walk to a picture-perfect tropical beach. The scenic path passes through a quiet village, temples, and verdant rice fields—offering a glimpse into everyday Sri Lankan life.
