This substantial and elegant 19th century residence has all the features of a classic, picture-perfect Loire chateau; an enchanting turret, garret windows set in carved stone against a slate roof, surrounded by wonderful parkland and paddocks. But past meets present now in this fully modernised and beautifully equipped holiday Chateau offering the latest in modern comfort and convenience, with a wonderful array of outdoor activities for all ages, including a large heated pool, golf driving range, disc-golf, archery, badminton and boules.

The village of Langeais has everything you will need in terms of shops and restaurants, but you may prefer to have meals at home; the on-site caretaker/chef will be delighted to discuss bespoke menus on request. The village is set on the banks of the Loire and is dominated by Chateau Langeais just a 10 min walk away. This is a lesser known chateau, but still offers an impressive sight as you approach from the south across the traditional suspension bridge into the village. It will certainly whet your appetite for visiting the larger chateaux; both Chateau d’Azay-le-Rideau, set in the centre of a lake formed by the Indre river, and Chateau Villandry, famed for its gardens, are only 7 miles away. Chinon is less than 20 miles away, whilst Amboise, Blois and Chambord are within an hour or so.

Beyond the many activities at Chateau St Laurent, the Loire river also offers lots of opportunities for outdoor pursuits; cycling along its banks, boat trips, and plenty of riverside towns and villages to explore on foot. Gastronomy is renowned in the region, and of course this is one of the most important wine producing regions of France and no holiday here would be complete without a visit to at least one 'cave'.
