The villa is on a private road alongside a bike path that leads from Sunset Beach to Waimea Falls. Starbucks is within walking distance, as is Foodland for groceries. There is also a Farmer’s Market every Saturday across the street from the villa at Sunset Beach Elementary School which sells organic produce. There is shopping and half a dozen excellent restaurants in Haleiwa, six miles away. We recommend Haleiwa Eats, Cholos, and Macky’s for fresh shrimp.

There are five private suites in the villa, which stands three stories high and is right on a beautiful sandy beach. There are ocean views from every bedroom and all have hardwood floors and ceiling fans. There is also room to accommodate caregivers and maid service is available for a fee. A “baby pack” (high chair and playpen) is available if needed. The villa provides basic beach equipment (beach chairs and some snorkel gear). All linens are provided (towels, sheets, pillows, etc), as well as basic toiletries (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, et al).

The private lanai is ideal for outdoor dining, whale watching and catching rainbows. The new gourmet kitchen features a Wolf stove with a built in griddle. There are two refrigerators, two dishwashers and lots of pantry space as well as containers for recycling. There are two clothes washers and two dryers, as well as an outdoor shower to rinse off the sea salt and sand.

Wireless internet is available throughout the villa and there is also a wireless security system. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo. The sound system can be piped into every room in the house. Please enjoy our collection of Hawaiian memorabilia, books and vintage posters.

TEMPERATURE

There are two seasons on the North Shore: winter (November to January), when there are 20-foot waves, ideal for the surf competitions held in the area during that time. The rest of the year water sports abound. During both seasons the water and air temperature is comfortable, ranging between 70 and 85 degrees. Everyone walks around here in their bathing suits, sarongs and sandals - day and night! Casual, laid-back is the vibe, even when dining out. Yes, it does rain sometimes but never for very long. And yes, it does get cool but never cold enough for even a wool sweater. What you need here is lots of sunscreen, a hat, and a pair of running shoes for hiking and walking the mile-long bike path that leads straight to Starbucks!!!

TRAVEL

Almost all major airlines fly into Honololu daily, which is approximately a 5-hour plane ride from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver, Canada. The Hawaiian Beach Villa, which is on the North Shore, is 30-minutes from Honolulu International Airport and less than an hour from Waikiki Beach which is on the opposite side of the island of Oahu. You can get to the North Shore by car rental, limousine (which must be booked in advance) or the commuter bus that goes all the way around the island in a continuous loop. See you in Hawaii!!!
