The Wonders of Key West

The Florida Keys, a wonder of natural wonders, a line of tiny islands strung together like a pearl, each one unique and each one drawing its own crowds.  The Florida Keys is mainly known for its Wild Fantasy Festival, which is usually held near Halloween.  Yet, the Florida Keys has long been a draw for all kinds of people seeking a “US” based “Caribbean Style” destination.  The temperatures here are always warm and sunny and there is always lots to do if you enjoy the nautical lifestyle.

Of all the wonderful things to do and islands to visit, most people like the Island of Islamorada, Key Largo, Key West, and Tavernier.  These are places that people are familiar with and you can bet that people flock here during the winter time.  There are really only two main ways to get there, you can fly into Key West International Airport and rent a car and drive around or you can drive down from Miami.  The drive down to the Keys is what most people usually like to see the 7 Mile Bridge, it’s a bridge that one has to admire truly floating you over the ocean as you are left to the elements.  The most amazing photos are usually taken from this very spot as children, parents, friends and family alike gaze over at the connecting island in the distance.  This is truly not a drive for those who do not love bridges, for most  however it’s a true majestic drive.

Once you begin your drive you can stop at the local shops and great seafood restaurants.  Some of our favorites include:

         Snappers

         Snooks Bayside

         Café Largo

Most people love to go to the Keys to enjoy nature, while you are driving you can also stop off at the Dolphin Cove for some one on one with the wildlife, you’ll be given and lesson and then you’ll get to swim with the dolphins.

As you make your way down to the furthermost point, Key West becomes the place to unwind, walk in your sandals day and night and think about nothing but the beaches.  Duval Street is a favorite of Key Westers, enjoy live bands, foods, café’s , and lots of great times.  We offer beachfront villas as well as oceanfront villas.  Remember that the Keys is not like most other areas, the beaches are not expansive, but they are very cozy for families and friends.  You’ll also find some pet friendly beaches as you make your way down.

The best time of year to go is during the winter, from November through June 30th, but many Europeans enjoy the summer months as well.  During the summer you can find the best deals on these holiday homes.
