This magnificent villa is nestled between the vineyards and olive groves, between Franschhoek (South Africa’s wine & culinary capital), Stellenbosch and Paarl, overlooking the famous wine estates of Boschendal and Plaisir de merle. The villa is centrally located, in what is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world, with views up into the mountains. The villa sits majestically, on the side of a hill and has been designed to ensure that guests are able to enjoy the incredible setting. This location offers guests the opportunity, to enjoy the magnificent beaches of Cape Town, wine tasting or dining at the many top rated wine estates, in the area. The cosmopolitan villages of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, with their historic architecture and world rated restaurants, come alive at night, with wine bars and al fresco dining.
When not exploring the area, the villa offers the ultimate setting, to relax, unwind and enjoy the tranquility that the villa and surroundings offer. Relax around the large pool (12m × 5m) or enjoy an afternoon nap in the summerhouse, which is equipped with a multi-level wood burning barbeque, as well as a gas grill. An 8-seater table allows for outdoor dining, while the large couch and lazy chairs will be the spot, for an afternoon siesta.
All bedrooms exude a style of their own, have breath taking views with large doors, opening onto private verandahs and are beautifully appointed, with Egyptian cotton bed linen, hairdryers, including a master suite with a walk through dressing room and a large bathroom that features a spa bath. All bathrooms have heated towel rails and sumptuous bath sheets.
There are a number of entertainment areas in the villa. The TV room is equipped with satellite TV, DVDs etc. This room is ideal for guests with children and together with the games room in the cellar, which is equipped with a ping pong table, a ¼ pool table, and the swimming pool, will ensure that the children are always active and having fun. The children are also welcome to fish for bass, in the estate dams. The villa has 2 small fishing rods and trout fishing can be arranged at one of the nearby farms.
The kitchen is truly a chefs dream, with every amenity, from global knives, Jamie Oliver pots, a Nespresso machine, to Caesar stone counter tops and a large island to keep your guests entertained while you prepare a drink or a meal. The large wrap around windows and doors, which open onto the verandah, overlooking the vineyards, allows one to enjoy the magnificent setting while cooking. The areas are large and open with fantastic high ceilings which flood the rooms with light each day. The valley is famous for its high quality cuisine and a chef is available for hire, for a special occasion or for your entire stay (this can be arranged, but must be done well in advance).
The wine bar, with large wrap around glass windows, makes for a great location, for sundowners, while enjoying the African sunset, against the backdrop of the Simonsberg Mountain. The lounges, dining room, wine bar and kitchen all open onto a large elevated terrace, which overlooks the lawns and vineyards.
The villa is equipped with 2 sets of golf clubs, 2 mountain bikes and 2 fishing rods. The villa has 24-hour on-site security and is cleaned daily. A chauffeur service to and from the airport, as well as to surrounding restaurants and villages, is available and will be quoted directly for each trip. Preferential rates available on the hire of 2 luxury German cars, while in residence, can be provided.
