Villa Zen del Mar is a 4,800-square-foot masterpiece of modern Mexican design. Situated on a private sandy beach in Akumal’s Jade Bay, it has five bedrooms with en suite baths and comfortably sleeps up to 14. On the first floor are a king-size bedroom, living room, dining room, and large kitchen with breakfast bar; upstairs are four bedroom suites with large private bathrooms.

From the moment you glimpse this villa’s claret-red exterior, you’ll feel life’s stresses falling away. It’s no coincidence – after all, the Mayans believed this color promoted positive energy. The 350-square-foot living room features a massive zen rock, a gift from the sea, which proudly captures the spirit of this villa.

The house is cleverly designed to make you feel as if you are both indoors and outdoors at once. Sliding glass doors disappear into the walls, opening the way to a spacious lounging patio. Enter the 60-foot infinity pool with waterfall edge, and you’ll feel as if you’re already in the sea. Relax poolside on a mahogany chaise as you watch your kids safely splashing in the shallow area with two in-water loungers.

Enjoy a meal in the indoor dining room, with a unique double tree-trunk table made by local artisans. Outdoors, grill meat or fresh fish on the built-in charcoal barbecue and gather at the large artisan-crafted wooden table as you take in the ocean view. Snack on complimentary chips, salsa and guacamole every afternoon.

Have a complimentary massage in the Zen Spa Palapa, with its commanding view of the sea and pool. Quiet and serene, the palapa comes complete with hot and cold shower and sink—perfect for a rinse after a Mayan massage or mud treatment.

Ascend the stairway to the rooftop for the widest ocean vistas on Jade Bay. Here you will find a palapa-covered bar with two large couches. We’ll even put an air mattress on the outdoor bed so you can sleep under the moon and stars.

You can walk 10 minutes directly from the villa along sandy Jade Beach into the town of Akumal. Explore the beach in one of the two 2-person ocean kayaks available for your use.

The villa staff is there daily to take care of your needs. Our personal concierge can arrange for chef-prepared meals, professional massages, tour excursions, private yoga instruction, fishing, golf, child care and more (for just a nominal service charge).

Note: Villa Zen del Mar may be rented together with Casa del Sol Naciente - for corporate retreats or family reunions, it's a perfect alternative to a hotel!
