A mix of tradition and vanguard, this house releases wood smell and seems a conceptual sculpture. This is a real example of the history respect and of the adaptation at the present that takes the advantages of living in the country side without renouncing at the current lifestyle. A “masia” (typical Catalan country house) built in 1776 and refurbished with contemporary air that conserves the strong and the soul of the history.

 

The house is formed by tree floors connected with a main stair. A walk by the stair let you enjoy the general decoration, sorted in ascending to show you in the top of the stair the basic intentions of the project.

Vanguard and tradition takes form in the interior through the different elements. The joists conform the ceilings of the rooms, and we can find antique furniture and classic contemporary designs, a set that transmit rationality and functionality at the same time. Indeed, any room let you see the main ideas that contain serenity in the colors, sophistication in the elements and functionality in the spaces.

 

One of the structuring elements is the stair that connects the building in the vertical direction. It is made of metal and glass so the transparent steps let you see through all the floors from any position. Is it used to divide rooms in the same floor, for example it divides the 2nd floor in bedroom and bathroom without a door. However there’s a folding door in case the spaces need privacy.

 

In the top floor has been created different work and stay areas and a library. The floor is opened like all the floors in the house. There are big windows and carpeting that cover the entire floor to ensure more warmth.

 

This house is a fusion of opposite concepts, with a lot of light natural openings which allow the view of the beautififul natural scenery from every corner of the house and in the sunny days enjoys of a magnificent sunsets. The experience is really full of emotions. Enjoy it!
