Springfield Castle, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Muskerry, whose motto ‘nothing is difficult to the strong and faithful’ underlies over 700 years of family history. The castle is situated in the heart of Co. Limerick on a beautiful wooded estate roamed by deer and approached by a magnificent avenue lined with ancient lime trees.

As you enter the impressive gateway of Springfield Castle, a plaque commemorates Daibhidh O’ Bruadair, a classical Irish poet of the seventeenth century who lived at the castle with the Fitzgerald family recording their exploits. He described Springfield as "a mansion abounding in poetry, prizes and people".

Awaken to a different world, stroll through the grounds to admire the peacefully grazing deer, and after a day in beautiful surroundings you will be ready to relax with a drink in front of a blazing fire in the drawing room or perhaps catch up with the news in the cozy sitting room before dinner in the elegant dining room.

When you rent Springfield Castle it is exclusively yours.

The castle accommodates 14 people in 8 bedrooms.

We also have a beautiful cottage on the estate, accommodating a further 4 people. The castle and cottage can be reserved together or separately giving you the flexibility to and stay with a group of 2-4 people, or a group of 14 people able to stay in the castle and up to 18 combining the cottage

Leisure facilities on site include a hard tennis court, a full sized snooker/pool table, table tennis and croquet. There is also a children's playground. The estate also has beautiful walks and picnic areas.

Heat and electricity payable at cost upon departure. Bookings run Saturday to Saturday.
