The accommodation is spread across the main villa and the totally independent annex. Both buildings offer rooms full of light which have been tastefully furnished to reflect modern tastes whilst retaining the character of the location – you know you are in the heart of Italy here. The emphasis is on ease of living, on tranquillity and on a relaxed pace of life, so if you are looking to unwind, this would make a good base. And once you have recharged your batteries there is plenty to see and do. Locally, you have the little town of Umbertide, where there are plenty of good restaurants and shops, and markets on Saturday & Wednesday mornings. As well as catering for the tourist trade this is also a working town, so if you want to experience everyday, authentic Italy, this is a place you will appreciate.

Beautiful ancient towns and cities such as Cortona, Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi and Siena would all make excellent day trips from Villa Idillio. Instead of driving, why not take the frequent and inexpensive train service from Umbertide to Perugia? You also have the lake beaches, watersports and boat trips at Lake Trasimeno, should you fancy a change of pace. After a busy day out, park your car back at the house and spend an undemanding evening at the superb restaurant just a short stroll from the villa, before heading back home for a nightcap under the stars … bliss.
