Villa Capri, Santa Maria Annunziata, Sorrento, Italy Vacation Rental
VILLA CAPRI is a two level villa of 270 square meters able to accommodate up to 11 people. It has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, WI-FI on the first floor, water heater, a barbecue, an outdoor pool (3x9 meters) and private parking. There are also different terraces and a furnished patio (120 squared meters) with coverage and with a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Naples. The villa is completely immersed in a lush, green and terraced garden of about 1,500 meters squared. It is an ideal place to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, or relax and read a book....
The panorama is simply amazing. You can almost reach out and touch Capri with your hand, Vesuvius can be admired in all its great majesty and the vast sea of the Gulf of Naples offers a fantastic sight with all of its colors. It is in that very sea where in 1808 the English and Franco-Neopolitan troops clashed and battled for the possession of the island. In order to keep an eye on military operations and to direct them, the king of Naples, Gioacchino Murat (the brother-in-law of Napoleone Bonaparte) settled in this villa, belonging at that time to a Neopolitan man named Andrea Rossi. In fact, in the central room, the Act of Surrender was signed by the English. The victory of G. Murat was such an important moment that its history was recorded on the Arc of Triumf in Paris.
After going through a luxurious iron-wrought gate you enter the property; you can park your car here. After entering the main entrance door you would find yourself in the atrium of the ground floor; in front is a staircase made of sandstone from Massa that brings you to the first floor, to the right is the caretaker's lodging and to the left are the areas reserved for you. Right away you enter into the first living room, with French windows that lead out to a small, furnished balcony terrace with a panoramic view. From the living room you can find the bathroom with a tub and changing room and the first bedroom (a triple but can also be turned into a quadruple) that has a bathroom with a shower. From the ground floor, by way of the staircase, you can get to the first floor. You would find yourself in another living space from which you can enter, by turning to your right, into a bedroom (with a French bed) and another double bedroom; from these rooms, by going through some French windows, you can go out onto balconies with wonderful patios, each overlooking the valley with a spectacular view and believe me when I say it's one of a kind. (These rooms are the pride of the villa and are all furnished with chairs and tables to make the stay even more pleasurable).
Then, in front of the living room is the dining room. On the left you will run into 2 bathrooms with a tub, 2 other living rooms, and a bedroom with a with a double bed (this Gioacchino Murat's room) and a space from which you can best admire the island of Capri and where the Act of Surrender was signed. In the back of the living rooms at the end is the kitchen, decorated with the typical, glazed ceramics, dating back to the 19th century, with the characteristic wood stoves but equipped with modern comforts; from the kitchen you can go out onto the patio furnished with tables and chairs. Finally, continuing up the staircase, you can reach the rooftop terrace used as a solarium and furnished with lounge chairs, towels and an outdoor cold shower; from here the view is ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!!
The villa also has a extraordinarily beautifully terraced garden ( with different levels and areas) set with tables, iron-wrought chairs, hammocks and swings and embellished with the presence of age-old plants (the olive tree at the entrance is around 650 years old, the arbutus about 210, the mastic about 205, the carob-tree about 150, and the Aleppo pine about 130 years. In this garden, between the flourishing green of the foliage to the bright colors of the sky and sea, there is a pool with a furnished area for relaxing and with a cold outdoor shower.
The villa is a DREAM!!!
Décor from the time period (furniture, carpets, paintings...), ceilings sometimes splendidly adorned with frescos, the staircase of sandstone from Massa, spectacular views, relaxation and comfort....
Along with the usual standard service, the staff of Villa Capri offers included in the price: a welcoming drink, a served breakfast from 8:00 to 11:00, a housekeeper and a 24 hour, ever-present maid who cleans 6 hours a day inside and outside, changes towels daily, changes linens 2/3 times a week, and provides clean pool towels, slippers and bathrobes.
