Sardinia or Italian Version Sardegna, is a region filled with Mythological Stories and larger than life real ancient artifacts. This Island is the second largest in the region but unlike others it is not all sandy beaches and cascading hills, it is actually very rocky and you will find it was probably a stronghold for many invaders over the last several hundred centuries. It stands as a testament to travelers and their journeys in this area, landing oftentimes out of fear and other times out of necessity, on this lovely Island. It served as both a protector and a home for many of its distant relatives.
Today Sardinia plays a different role, attracting travelers and backpackers from all over the globe annually. This location is perfect for those who love their goat cheeses and their wines, you can take a drive through the hills of Sardinia and find testaments to how this economy is reared by the hard working hand of the locals and their farming. Many outputs of citrus, wines, cheeses and rice come from this region. The only downfall is that there is also the cost of shipping as they are not connected to the mainland. However this has not proven to be too much of a worry as Sardegna is a very rich region indeed.
There are lovely homes for rent on the hillsides of Sardinia and within its wine regions. Take a tour and fine some great places to stop off and sample the local cuisine, there are a number of fine restaurants here as well. So next time you want a villa, vacation home, private estate, or a fully catered option in Sardinia, let us know.
